16 September 2006 – Miffy and Craig are married!

A detailed report will follow shortly. They married on Saturday 16 September at Sherbrooke Lodge in the Dandenong Ranges, east of Melbourne. It was a garden wedding set in the lush rainforest, in perfect weather, surrounded by family and friends – including Josh, who flew in from Florida that same morning for a 10-day stay. Long-time family friend, Bishop Robert Prentice, performed the ceremony. Naomi and Esther were bridesmaids. Ainsley and Nadia were flowergirls. Josh and Marnie offered the invocation and benediction. Marnie also made the wedding cakes, placed on a 1.5m tall multi-tiered stand in the shape of daisies designed and made by Craig, an industrial designer. Lynne made Miffy's bridal gown and all of the bridesmaids' and flowergirls' outfits.

The newly weds flew to Fiji for a 2-week honeymoon on Wednesday 20 September.

September 2006 – Miffy and Craig buy their first home

After a busy few weeks of house-hunting, Miffy and Craig finally found a two-bedroom cottage, complete with art-deco plaster ceilings, in Boronia. Their offer was accepted by the owners and they took possession just two weeks before their wedding. It's opposite a large park with a childcare centre and sports stadiums that back onto the Boronia shopping centre – one of the best in the outer eastern suburbs. The train station is a block away, schools are only a block away, and McDonalds is only two blocks away!

June 2006 – Marnie and David move to their new home

David and Marnie and the girls moved into their new home, not far from Maroondah Stake Centre and the Melbourne temple, this month. Situated on a HUGE block of land (enough for an entire court of houses), they've already begun redecorating and renovating the spacious two-storey home. The girls are especially enjoying having their own rooms and several chickens roaming the back yard. In summer, they'll enjoy the swimming pool, too! Marnie has her new kitchen almost installed and finished. It's at least 4 times bigger than her previous kitchen, and 2 storeys high.

December 2005-January 2006 – The Hobyahs return for the summer!

Together with Diamond Valley Singers, we presented a two week season of "The Hobyahs" from Boxing Day until 9 January. Critical and public acclaim didn't help overcome the fact that it was the wrong time of year, but it wasn't our decision to make, so we agreed to do it anyway. John and Esther played Trooper Trott and Amelia Peppercorn, respectively. Esther was a huge hit with everyone, but especially the younger children. Now we're left with Barney the horse and all the costumes in Lynne's lounge room... unusual!
