Naomi was born
at Wonthaggi Hospital on 1 August 1982. Josh and Marnie nicknamed her "Casper"
because, in almost every baby photo of her, she was white and shining, with no visible
hair. That has changed.
Naomi was always a performer, from a very early age. When she was three, and Miriam
five, they attended every performance of the 1986 season of "The Hobyahs"
at the National Theatre, Melbourne. One afternoon, as John was about to make his
grand entrance from the rear of the theatre as Trooper Trott, the girls waylaid him
on the stairs to ask if he'd write a show that they could be in. He agreed,
and next summer they both appeared in the family panto "The Secret of the Silver
Sorcerer", Miriam as Edward Bear and Naomi as herself. Following a successful schools tour of South Gippsland in November 2006, the production played at Melbourne's Phoenix Theatre in January 2007, followed by a tour of the Western District in July 2007 for the Arts Council of Australia and the Geelong Saturday Club.
From then on, there was no stopping her. Ballet, drama, school musicals... and now one of
Melbourne's top Rave DJs, choreographers, dance trainers and costume designers. Naomi worked
in the fashion industry for several years, then became a teacher's assistant working with children with autism and Asperger's Syndrome, until she had Loughlin in late 2008.
In 2010 she'll return to part-time work in the out-of-school-hours program at her previous school.
You'll find more current photos of Naomi, Daniel and Loughlin on the family blog. |
